In Valheim, there are many weapons that players can use to protect themselves. Here is where each one stands.
Players in Valheim can build their characters so that they can either fight or defend. Survivors who like to fight more strategically will want to use a cover. Having an extra layer of defense is nice when fighting other players or bosses.
There are nine different types of shields in Valheim. They are either Round or Tower. Round shields slow you down less when you move, and you can parry while using them. On the other hand, Tower shields make it hard for the character to move and stop them from parrying. But Tower shields have more power to block. On this list, the shields will be ranked from worst to best. The last shield on this list is without a doubt the best shield in Valheim.
Wood Tower Shield

Players can’t block while using a tower shield, and it makes them less useful overall because they can’t move as quickly. The Wood Tower Shield, on the other hand, works well in the first setting and helps players stay alive long enough to enjoy the story.

The Bronze Buckler is one of the few shields in the game that only comes in one style, so it will be hard to make it match any of the armor sets.

Iron Tower Shield is the next best tower shield. The shield is a huge improvement over the shield from the Wood Tower. It gives an extra 40 Blocking Power. To get the Iron needed to make this item, players must first kill the Elder. You can choose from seven different kinds of Iron Tower Shields. The black and white design is especially nice, but it’s hard to suggest using this to beat the Queen or other hard bosses.

The biggest benefit of the new Hearth And Home shield is its parry bonus. It gives the same 2.5x bonus as the Bronze Buckler, but it gives up to 40 Block instead. A few hours into the game, the Iron Buckler is a good choice for players who use parry and want to get the most out of their bonus.
In the end, the other shields below are much better at stopping attacks than this one. For example, the Banded Shield has up to 54 block. It is also an iron shield. Because the block bonus is more important than the parry bonus, the Banded Shield is better than the Iron Buckler. At this point in the game, it’s better to trick your opponent with traps than to use shields to protect yourself from attacks.

The Silver Shield is another improvement for the round class. With 72 Block Power and 50 Block Force, it is the best shield in the middle game. A 1.5x parry increase will also be available. Before getting silver, survivors will want to kill Bonemass, the boss who drops the Wishbone. Almost all of the resources are hidden, and the Wishbone is important. Ballistas can protect the base, but this shield can protect you while you’re moving.
Carapace Buckler

The Black Metal Tower Shield is the second-best shield. The item gives the base build 104 Block Power, but it can only be made with a level 3 Forge. To Forge the shield, players will need two new items: Black Metal and Chain. Monsters in the Plains biomes drop Black Metal, which players will want to get a lot of so they can make Black Metal weapons and armor.
Crafters can choose from all seven base styles. But the Black Metal Shields are shiny, which people will notice. It makes it clear that this game is set in the Iron Age.

The Black Metal shield is very useful for those who gather the materials because it can be used in many ways and is strong.Get a hen and start small, but know that shields like this will make the game so much easier once you can buy the materials to make them.

There is only one shield that stops more damage than the Carapace Shield, but it is a tower shield, which has all of the problems that come with it. There are no tricks here; it just slows you down by 5% and gives you a 1.5x block bonus. This is the one that players will show off to their friends for a long time, especially if they’re ready to peacock with their Feather Cape.
